Quality & Compliance

Quality, Traceability and Qualification.

Advanced composite components require a quality approach that addresses material control, process execution, inspection, documentation and application-specific qualification.

DANTA's quality strategy is focused on establishing the systems and evidence needed to support consistent manufacturing and customer confidence.

Quality principles

Six Controls Across the Chain.

Defined Requirements

Establish the applicable drawing revisions, specifications, process requirements and acceptance criteria.

Material Traceability

Maintain the records needed to identify material type, batch and relevant handling history.

Process Control

Document manufacturing instructions, approved parameters and applicable equipment configurations.

Inspection Planning

Define the required inspections, measurement methods and acceptance criteria.

Nonconformity Management

Identify, document and disposition nonconforming products or processes through authorised procedures.

Configuration Control

Ensure the correct revisions of drawings, toolpaths, manufacturing instructions and specifications are used.

Quality documentation

Records a Programme May Require.

  • Material certificates
  • Incoming inspection records
  • Manufacturing instructions
  • Material traceability records
  • Equipment and calibration records
  • Process monitoring records
  • Inspection reports
  • Nonconformity reports
  • Corrective-action records
  • First Article Inspection documentation
  • Customer-specific qualification records

Not every programme requires every document. The contract, applicable standards and customer requirements determine what is needed.

Standards and regulatory frameworks

Frameworks We May Need to Consider.

AS9100

A quality management-system standard for organisations in aviation, space and defence supply chains.

AS9102

A standard addressing First Article Inspection requirements in applicable aerospace supply chains.

AS9145

A framework for Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process in relevant aerospace programmes.

ISO 11119 series

Standards addressing the design, construction and testing of composite gas cylinders, depending on the applicable part and product category.

Indian pressure-equipment requirements

Applicable Indian legislation, rules and approvals must be determined for the specific product, manufacturing activity and intended use.

Customer-specific requirements

A customer may impose additional specifications, qualification procedures, inspection requirements or documentation obligations.

Listed for context. These are not certifications held by DANTA.

Our current status

Evidence-Based Compliance.

DANTA's compliance approach is being developed in line with its manufacturing activities, product requirements and intended markets.

Specific certifications, approvals and qualified manufacturing scopes will be identified only after they have been formally obtained and their applicability verified.

A certification applies only within its defined scope. It must not be presented as blanket approval for every product or application.

Qualification approach

A Typical Qualification Programme.

  1. Requirements review
  2. Design and manufacturing review
  3. Material and process evaluation
  4. Prototype development
  5. Defined inspection and testing
  6. Qualification evidence review
  7. Customer or regulatory approval, where applicable
  8. Controlled release into production

The actual sequence depends on the product and applicable requirements.
